🏛️ State License Law 📍 OregonThe Oregon Real Estate Agency (OREA), under the Real Estate Commissioner, enforces Oregon real estate law and may investigate complaints against licensees. For violations such as fraud, misrepresentation, mishandling of client trust funds, or unlicensed activity, OREA can impose discipline ranging from a reprimand to suspension, revocation, refusal to renew, and civil penalties, following a contested-case process that affords the licensee notice and a hearing. Because Oregon does not maintain a real estate recovery or guaranty fund, consumers harmed by a licensee must seek compensation through civil court rather than from a state fund.
