🏛️ State License Law 📍 South Carolina

📖 What you need to know

South Carolina requires real-estate advertising to be truthful and not misleading, and licensees generally must advertise under the name of the brokerage firm rather than as an independent individual. The broker-in-charge (BIC) is responsible for ensuring the firm's advertising complies with license law and for overseeing affiliated licensees. Brokerages must keep transaction and trust-account records, with client and earnest-money funds held in proper trust accounts and never commingled with the firm's operating funds. Failure to maintain accurate records or to keep funds properly segregated is a common basis for Commission discipline.
