🏛️ State License Law 📍 IllinoisThe IDFPR Division of Real Estate enforces the Real Estate License Act of 2000 by investigating complaints against brokers and managing brokers. Depending on the severity and pattern of the violation, the agency may issue a reprimand, place a license on probation, impose civil fines, or suspend or revoke the license. Illinois also maintains a Real Estate Recovery Fund that can compensate consumers for certain losses caused by licensee misconduct after an uncollectible court judgment, and a licensee who triggers a payout must repay the fund before the license is restored.
