📖 What you need to know

Real estate licensing in Michigan is administered by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). To qualify, a salesperson applicant must complete 40 hours of approved pre-licensure education and pass the state exam. A salesperson cannot operate independently; the license must be held and supervised by a sponsoring broker who is responsible for the salesperson's real estate activities.
